Senior Training Consultant - Workplace Options

Senior Training Consultant

Reporting to the Director of Global Learning Solutions (GLS), the Senior Training Consultant is responsible for successful development and completion of learning deliverables and international training activities. The Senior Training Consultant works with clients and account managers to define business and performance issues relating to personal and professional skills development and applies knowledge of current industry trends in the fields of EAP, adult education, and e-learning solutions to address organization capabilities and specific development needs. The Senior Training Consultant develops a training plan, training courses, handles training coordination and logistics, while using the appropriate instructional design methodology and the application of the appropriate learning strategies to solve performance problems.  The Senior Training Consultant ensures that WPO offers innovative training curricula, in multiple formats delivered by an international cadre of highly qualified facilitators/trainers. The Senior Training Consultant will refresh training topics and proactively develop training to meet emerging workforce and organizational trends. The successful Senior Training Consultant will have a strong ISD background and experience in e-learning to ensure that WPO leads the market in training content, delivery venues and training professionals. 


This position is based in Chiswick Park, London, UK.  No relocation is provided.

Position Responsibilities:


• Identifies training and development needs by gathering documentation and information, analyzing jobs, tasks, cultural values, and performance, identify prerequisites for learners; prioritizes needs; conferring with global clients, sales, and account managers.
• Develop global training curricula with highest level of instructional systems design, ensure content is appropriate for specific country and culture with most up to date content for training initiatives; Be able to create highly effective learning solutions in a profitable manner.
• Designs and develops courses by creating course and learning objectives, course outlines and instructional and media methods to include presentations, facilitator guides, collateral learning material, multimedia visual aids and in accordance with WPO standards for quality.
• Develop, maintain and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual utilization and customer satisfaction reports internally and externally using course evaluation data. 
• Conducts an analysis of all evaluations to assess content relevancy, trainer effectiveness, client satisfaction and trainer feedback regarding the training experience. Incorporates feedback to improve course and facilitator effectiveness.
• Conduct and coordinate training activities from training request forms to ensure a variety of collaborative learning strategies: guided facilitation, short lecture, group discussion, course materials, and experiential exercises for classroom-based and e-learning.
• Follow an established process to ensure that all requested training services are delivered to meet client specifications.
• Coordinate the logistics for client events such as new client launches, promotional visibilities, benefit fairs, health fairs. 
• Recruit, screen, gather proper documentation, coach, provide feedback, and evaluate international cadre of qualified external training professionals to serve in the WPO training affiliate network (UK, Ireland, Canada, etc). 
• Track and coordinate all invoices – invoice request form for client billing and verify invoices from training affiliates.  Work with finance to ensure proper accounts payable and receivables for training.
• Coordinate and host WebEx events for international events: demos, trainings and webinars. 
• Assess the training capabilities of internal WPO staff and develop internal subject matter experts (SME’s) for inclusion in the WPO training affiliate network.
• Coach trainers in techniques for on-line delivery of curricula and new practices. 
• Conduct annual surveys of Sales, Account Managers, Service Delivery and Quality Staff to determine new topics for the Global Learning Solutions offerings. 
• Refresh the WPO Global Catalogue annually with new topics that reflect current workforce needs and interests.
• Maintains knowledge of EAP and ISD by attending workshops, reviewing and discussing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participates in own personal development.
• Serve as WPO sponsor for the HR Forum.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Skills and Competencies:
• Strong communication, planning and organization skills
• Clear and concise written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational, presentation, time management and analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups, cultures, and at all levels of the organization.
• Well versed in on-line web technology: experience with designing Web-based content, including SCORM and 508 compliance is preferred. 
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to influence/persuade others: training affiliates, clients, and WPO employees.
• Detailed oriented, yet able to see the big picture
• A creative problem-solver and not afraid to accept challenges

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in training and development, Adult/Workforce Education, or related field required, Masters preferred.
• 3 years experience in Training and Development/ISD required.
• Minimum of 1 year e-learning experience preferred.
