Telephone Counsellors (Oxford)

PPC is a leading provider of Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) across the UK and internationally. We are both ISO and IIP accredited. Our core purpose is to enhance the performance of our client Companies by helping staff at all levels to lead more effective and rewarding lives.

The EAP provides a range of confidential, high quality clinical and non-clinical services to employees and associates of national and international organisations. Our Telephone Counselling team provides immediate telephone counselling support, crisis intervention, assessment of need and referral to other services provided by our network of affiliate counsellors and external agencies, Calls come from individuals wanting personal support and organisations wanting emergency on-site support for employees affected by a critical or distressing incident.

High levels of resilience, computer literacy skills and the ability to establish rapport quickly on the telephone are crucial in this role. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to contain callers in crisis, be able to prioritise workload and employ a solution-focused approach. The telephone counsellor will also feel confident to provide the optimum clinical care within the commercial remit of the service and have an understanding of corporate issues and organisational dynamics.

We operate a 24 hour 7 day a week service to our clients and our 8 hour shift patterns include day, evening, and weekend working. The position may be either full or part time but we require at least 3 shifts (3 x 7.25 hour days) to be worked each week.  We are particularly interested in applicants who are able to work the evening shifts up to 2300hrs.
